Thanks to the research of dedicated professionals in the astro-physics realm, we've known for some time now that our local star - the Sun - was once part of an open cluster that has long dispersed far and wide around the Milky Way. Using proper motion surveys and spectroscopy, astronomers have identified a star in the constellation Hercules as a very likely candidate for being a sibling of our home star, and the best part is that it's not all that challenging to find or see. At a magnitude of 6.55 it's an easy target in binoculars or a low power telescopic field.
