Some of you have probably seen the ad in the magazines for the most recent lunar meteorite auction taking place at Heritage Auctions;

That's a 37.5lb moon rock up for auction. If I consider what I paid for a measly .15 gram piece of lunar breccia and do some pounds to grams calculations, that beast figures out to have a value north of four million dollars. Nothing would surprise me these days with all the money some people have, but looking at it realistically I'm guessing that it will eventually pull in over a million. It didn't sell at the first attempt back on March 31st (as far as I could tell there was only one phone bidder) and I didn't see a minimum bid or a reserve price anywhere, but I'm thinking this will be interesting to watch.
