[Friends_of_SSASTROS] Fireworks on the Sun...

...for Independence Day?
Perhaps. Outgoing sunspot #3354 has been getting all the attention lately after producing several flares, including a couple of 'X'-class, but those happened when the region wasn't pointing straight at us. It's my humble opinion that we might be in for some more fireworks soon from the region of #'s 3357,58 and 59. During a brief opportunity today I was able to deploy my Hydrogen Alpha scope and I saw a lot of energy in that area. The sunspots themselves are small, but there were rivers of bright plage interconnecting them. My tinfoil helmet is at the ready!  :-)

Hyperactive #3354 is on the outgoing limb at upper right, but I'm seeing a nice replacement for it in the circled area.
Keep Looking Up!
Mike M.
