Hi Sue,

 

We park on the beach side of the bridge. The gates will be open when we get there, but closed when we leave. There's a little un- gated passage that we use when leaving.

Folks, the forecast for this evening looks pretty good. Our Ladies' Night Astro Extravaganza is a GO! I'll be at the parking lot around 8pm, and with me will be my wife, Chris and her sister, Eileen (Leeny).

Greetings SSAStros Folks, 

 

We've thrown out a little feeler and the response was positive, so tomorrow night, Sunday, August 28 we'll host a Ladies' Night binocular observing session from Duxbury Beach. Until we come up with some lady astronomers that are willing to step up and host these sessions you'll have to put up with me as your guide, but in the meantime all of our female members and friends are encouraged to join us in the main parking lot of Duxbury Beach at 8:30pm, when we'll walk out to the beach and take a little tour of the sky and discuss some of what's up there.  

 

All you need to bring is a chair of some sort and a pair of binoculars. We'll meet at the main walkway (the one nearest to the gated entrance to the parking area) to the beach before going over. If you're late and trying to find us, go across the main walkway and take a right on the rubber 'boardwalk' on the beach. We'll be not too far from that walkway, and you'll most likely be able to identify us by the laser beams emanating from the group.
